Overview:
With opportunities for underground guerrilla activity in southern France in the weeks prior to Operation DRAGOON, the Office of Strategic Services dispatched Operation JUSTINE, comprised of 15 American soldiers led by First Lieutenant Vernon G. Hoppers, to further train and equip elements of resistance around the Alpine citadel of Vassieux.
