Overview:
On 22 January, VI Corps landed at Anzio to outflank the Gustav Line. The Allies spent the first few days consolidating their bridgehead. By the 29th, VI Corps commander, Major General John Porter Lucas, was finally ready to break out. The Germans had used the intervening time wisely, and were able to contest the Allied advance. The British on the right had taken the town of Aprilia and continued to drive to the north. At 0630 on 31 January, the 1st Battalion of the Irish Guards-with the support of American tank destroyers-headed to Campoleone to take the town.Attacker: Allied (British/American) ((British) 1st Battalion, Irish Guards and (American) Company C, 894th Tank Destroyer Battalion)

2025-07-25 | (A) nathan wegener | vs | Doug Kirk | German win | Too aggressive w TDs and lost one to CC and then parked in the HIP ATG LOS. Hard to win w/o armour support. StL25
2025-07-07 | (D) Andy Bagley | vs | Josh Kalman | German win | The Allies concentrated their attack in the centre and made very good progress at first, with long-range shots from the German defenders doing little damage. As a result, the British infantry soon established itself in the southern part of the village, although one American AFV was lost to German tank fire. The Germans hurriedly regrouped and were able to halt the Allied at the N5-U9 road, where exchanges of fire failed to shift the defenders. Eventually, the Allies attempted to cross the road in open ground supported by an AFV, but good defensive shooting meant they took heavy losses including the AFV. Down two AFVs and with little infantry left the Allies conceded - possibly prematurely although the Germans were definitely better.

2025-05-20 | (A) David Ramsey | vs | Martin Barker | Allied (British/American) win (VASL Log) | 3.5 hrs | Very tight game that was decided on the last shots of the game, and perhaps could have been closer based on the German's last turn where they were a little too bold. Nice scenario, but always scary to have to capture multiple multi-level buildings.
2025-05-15 | (A) Paolo Cariolato | vs | Federico Corso | Allied (British/American) win | it went down to the last turn, but the result was scripted, I was able to bag 3 german squad for failure to rout and he had too few infantry to resist |
