Overview:

Shanghai had to be abandoned to the Japanese. But Chang Kai Shek could not surrender it without firing a shot juts before the international conference about China, to be held on November 6th. He ordered one unit to stay behind and die, as a symbol of Chinese resistance. The 1st Battalion of 524th Regiment, 8th Division was picked to make the last stand, in the Sihang warehouse. The building offered the advantages of benig both the tallest concrete building in the area, and was situated in front of the international concession, just across the river. The fight was sure to attract attention.

2025-05-30(D) Tuomo Lukkari vs Timo Karna GMD win
2023-07-26(D) Jobbo Fett vs xs-bombing GMD winA scenario where the Japanese took their time to get in close and prepare their assault into the victory building - sadly broken up by great dice by the Chinese side. Few troops were able to access the building, partly due to fortified locations and partly due to lucky Wire placement, the Japanese could only manage securing one Location before being pummeled by a 24FP and a 36FP shot. Mounting losses and running out of time meant that, despite the élan, the Japanese couldn't secure the required Locations as they no longer had the Manpower to occupy it.
2013-11-23(D) Martí Cabré vs Francisco Belmonte GMD winPaco did a two pronged attack and used his tanks to try to wreck the wire. One got bogged but then cleared one wire hex. An early banzai charge on the open meant three Japanese squads dead thanks to a KIA result and his second banzai was also stopped thanks to the remaning wire and the Chinese MGs. Finally, the Japanese conceded without any Japanese stepping inside the building.
2013-11-22(D) Martí Cabré vs Adam Lunney GMD winLong PBEM game. Adam did a two pronged attack and I used a couple of squads to delay it. His tanks first surrounded the building and then a squad in the square center, but they could not break them.
He dropped smoke on the building but my units in the building just moved around it and blasted with the MGs and the DC all the Japanese squads that came too near and finally the Japanese conceded.
2013-09-02(D) nathan wegener vs Mike B Japanese winWhy did I play another defend the alamo scenario?
Didn't care for this one - couldn't stop anyone. MageF13
