Overview:

In its attack the previous day, 1st Battalion, 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Di vision, commanded by Major Glover S. Johns Jr., had gained several hundred yards and gotten too far ahead of the rest of the 29th Division on its left and the 35th Division on its right. As a result, word came down to Major Johns from Division directing him to pause his attack until neighboring units could catch up. In the meantime, 1st Battalion was exposed to a potential German counterattack. Especially worrisome were parts of a large patrol from Company B that had made its way into the woods at night and was unable to pull back when ordered. Under strict orders not to proceed, hours passed while the officers and men of the battalion waited anxiously. Finally, at 1430, Johns was ordered to "continue the attack at once," and 1st Battalion res urned its offensive.

2025-05-23(D) Richard Jenulis vs Dave Wolfe German win4 hrsClose game, down to the last turn.
2025-05-04(D) Indy Lagu vs Jody Sallans German winThe Germans have a LOT of HIP in this one.

I concentrated my defenders on the US left. Luckily
for me, that's where Jody piled his troops.

The Germans are in a precarious position. It feels
like they have an initially strongish crust, but once
that crust cracks, Gang Green can march through.

As such, the German has to be a bit careful about
not delaying his retreat.

I did get quite luck in that Jody walked into the
teeth of my defence. Not his fault at all, as my
guys were mostly HIP.

I'm not sure I love this one, as both the US and
Germans have to guess what the other side will
do. I happened to guess correctly. If the German
guesses incorrectly, it could be lopsided for the
US. Your guess is as good as mine.
2025-02-09(A) Jon Jaramillo vs Jim Aikens American win4 hrsDespite my opponent really rolling great early, his forces were spread out too wide. This allowed the Americans to use their firepower to gain an advantage on the left side of the board and by turn 4 I had enough units close to the victory area. The German player conceded when I advanced a leader and 2 MMGs onto the level 1 hill next to the road. He didn't think he'd be able to get enough units over to that side of the board. I agreed.
