Overview:
The Arab Legion had been founded by the British in Palestine. Their motorized elements were part of "Habforce" for the British invasion of Syria. Four days after crossing into Syria, the Arab Legion was split off from "Habforce" to protect the lines of communcation. Sukhna was occupied by the Arab Legion without a fight on June 29th. On the morning of 1 July, a large French column launched an attack. The Arab Legion was reinforced by a squadron of the Household Cavalry Regiment. In addition they had a number of WWI vintage Hotchkiss machineguns that the Household Cavalry had transferred to them before the start of the campaign.Attacker: Vichy (2eme Compangnie Legere du Desert)
