Overview:
For four long days, the 1st Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers had held the line of the Canal de la Bassee. So tenacious was their stand that Generalmajor Rommel visited the scene to see for himself what was holding up 7th Panzer Division. Detached from C Company to cover the battalion’s extreme right flank, 13 Platoon held the isolated village of Avalette, supported by a single gun of 25th Infantry Brigade’s own Anti-Tank Company. In the afternoon of the 25th, the expected relief of 13 Platoon by French troops materialized as a retreating French tank, which could only limp no further than the lip of a demolished canal bridge.Attacker: German (7th Panzer Division)
Defender: British / French (13 Platoon, 1st Royal Irish Fusiliers and Remnants of Fusiliers' Carrier Platoon / French survivors of 1st D.L.M.)

2024-05-12 | (A) Vic Lauterbach | vs | JM | German win | This one lived up to its reputation, great scenario! I was expecting it to be decided in the final German CCPh, but two PB PFPh IFT shots broke Jim's last GO 247s in buildings 23H1 and 33I10, forcing them to rout away. The immobilized S35 stood up to everything I threw at it, including a shot from the captured 25LL (a 467 pushed into 23K5 where it broke on the second shot). The S35 made building 33J3 too hot to hold for long. Luckily, no GO British MMC were nearby to reoccupy it. A tense, fun game that could easily have gone Jim's way. Jim: I lost the fight for building 33M5 too quickly and it cost me two precious 457s. Vic got several key double breaks on 247s with low firepower shots that turned the tide. Good tutorial on Carriers which were fun to use! My gamble trying to retake building 33P8 failed; Those two 247s sent to 23I10 probably would have got me the win. Great game nonetheless!

2023-05-31 | (D) Craig Renier | vs | Peter Palmer | German win | The Germans rushed the British left flank with the AFVs and half the infantry. The remaining infantry with MGs kept the British occupied in the center. On German Turn 1, the British were able to wreck one AFV with the ATR, but the Germans broke all the British defenders. In the center, the Germans, using spray fire, stripped concealment on one stack and revealed a dummy stack. The British withdrew as best as possible in an attempt to rally, but the broken squads remained broken. The British had faint hope when the SOMUA hit the German killer stack wounding the leader and breaking the squads. However, by the end of German Turn 3 the SOMUA was first shocked and then wrecked, the AT gun malf'd, and the only Good Order MMC was the AT crew. Post game the players realized the British neglected to place their Wire on the board, which influenced the outcome greatly.
