Overview:
The Battle of Poland had just begun, but the initial assaults on Leszno had been beaten back by the 55th Poznan Infantry Regiment. Taking stock of the units available to him, General Abraham decided to take the fight to the Germans. Cot. Edmund Lesisz of the 2nd Infantry Company was tasked with leading a combined arms force across the Silesian frontier. The German response was a mixture of disbelief, disorganization, surrender and retreat. An anti-tank ditch halted the advance of artillery and armored cars, but the infantry continued forward, seizing the village of Geyersdorf with ease. Then, supported by a platoon of TKS tankettes on their left, a platoon of Uhlans on their right, the Poles pushed on towards Fraustadt (present day Wschowa), 8 km inside Germany.Attacker: Polish (55th Poznan Infantry Regiment)
Defender: German (Infanterie Regiment 152 and Fraustadt Garrison with Motorcycle platoon)
