Overview:
After Gola was captured, elements of the 9th and 11th Companies of the 1st SS Infantry Regiment, supported by their armored car detachment, raced ahead to capture Chróscin and push on to Boleslawiec. A scouting party comprised of both fresh recruits and experienced troops was tasked to secure Chróscin. A few Obrona Narodowa (ON), Polish National Guard, were present and had convinced the townsfolk to arm themselves. As they entered the town after moving through patches of fog, the SS were subjected to a wild, irregular gunfight by soldiers and armed civilians.Attacker: German (SS) (9th and 11th Companies, 3rd Infantry Battalion (rein), 1st SS Infantry Regiment)
