Overview:
After Christmas, the retreating Blocco Nord finally made it to the town of Chertkovo, where an Italo-German garrison took them in and provided them much needed fuel and supplies. However, Blocco Nord was in no condition to continue. They waited for rescue by German units trying to beak through the encirclement. The Soviets launched a major attack to eliminate the survivors of Blocco Nord. . .Attacker: Russian (1st Guards Army)

The Italians set up behind the second road conceding the main area of board 49. The Russians slowly moved forward finally nudging ahead in VP on the last turn but the Axis managed to slip around the flank to gain a building and a Berserk Conscript charged a broken Russian to win the CC and the location on their final movement to win by 3 VP. |
