Overview:

Before the outbreak of the war, some French groups questioned why France would go to war with Germany over Poland and "die for Danzig". However, any French reluctance to fight did not prevent the outbreak of the war. In March 1945 the front lines ran through Danzig, and soldiers on both sides literally were dying for control of the city. The Russians formed combined-arms assault groups, comprising flame-thrower tanks, assault guns and infantry. On 27th March, such assault teams of 108th Rifle Division hit the German positions.

2025-10-28(D) Maximiliano Estravis Barcala vs Marty Snow Russian winThe Germans set up their HMG forward and their 88 gun in road hex W2. The Russians set up around R1. The 88 crew was quickly attacked and rolled boxed cars, so the Gun didn't have any role in the scenario. Lots of action from the German sniper, none from the Russian. The German halftrack reinforcement was burned right at its entry. A total of six German units went Berserk, which was not helpful in a scenario where they have to defend positions. In the end, the powerful Russian tanks blazed their way through the defense and Germans were defeated during their player turn 4.
2025-07-16(D) Andy Bagley vs Laurent Tinture German winClassic scenario, and a close game. The Russians opted to set up around R8 and began quite cautiously, also using a few units to hold the German stragglers. Momentum build as the game progressed however, and I staged a gradual retreat back to buildings in the north-east corner of the Strongpoint. The Russians got close with a final change, but couldn't quite reach all of the German positions they needed to win.
2023-09-17(D) Yuqi Xiong vs Fromat German winActually down to the last dice roll. If russians managed to blow the buiding into rubble, a 4KIA, where the rubble creation dr rolled a 6, they would make it. Some really bad DR early in the game slowed Russian offensive.
2 FT tanks and 2 FT were really invincible. Germans were gradually pushed out of their defense line. I set the 88 gun within the stronghold area, which didn't score any hit, and my little forces were divided into 3 individual parts by turn 3.
2023-02-22(D) Jennifer Wright vs Stu Rubin Russian win
2023-02-18(A) Pascal Boileau vs Tobias D German winA nice scenario. Probably I was too slow with the Russians during the attack but the dice ruined most of my attempts to break the smart defensive placement of the German units.
