Overview:

In early January 1945, the Battle of the Bulge had run its course, and numerous Allied units were drawn northward to stem the German tide. Taking advantage of this situation, OKW launched a second, less well-known western front offensive codenamed Operation NORDWIND toward the Allied southern sector. The target was the French province of Alsace and the ambitious plan required two German armies to encircle the American Seventh Army in and around Sarrebourg. The northern portion of the German attack stalled. To break the impasse, the Germans deployed Panzer-Korps XXXIX, its key offensive weapon, along a more southern axis. Rebuffed at Oberroedern, it moved further southward and targeted the twin villages of Hatten-Rittershoffen. During the early morning of 9 January, the Germans managed to capture the Maginot fortifications located east of Hatten. Kompanie 3, Bataillon I, Panzergrenadier-Regiment 35 penetrated Hatten but was soon isolated from supporting units. A local counterattack by C Company, 242nd Infantry Regiment supported by a platoon of M18 Hellcats was laid on.
Attacker: American (C Company, 242nd Infantry Regiment, 42nd Infantry Division and B Company, 827th Tank Destroyer Battalion)

2024-02-28(A) George Tashji vs German winUS was able to secure 2 VP buildings by Turn 2. Then the Germans counterattacked big on Turn 3, flaming one tank and recalling a second. Americans pressed on, securing a third VP building, but lost a CC to secure a fourth. Could not reach fifth or sixth in time. US needs to judiciously place smoke and WP from their mortars.
2024-01-20(D) Jesus Pie vs Don Holland German win
2023-06-10(D) Yuqi Xiong vs Gregory German winA fairly exciting and intensive scenario. I set a in-depth defense line. I deployed the INF in the center, trying to cut the battlefield into 2 parts. On turn 3, I'll receive a small reinforcement force compromising 3 447s plus 1 LMG and a 8-0.
Turn 1 and 2 had a LV+1 hindrance, so Americans took the first 3 VP buildings, wiping out 4 of my dummy stacks, but my defensive fire did scored quite a lot of hits, breaking some US squads.
I gradually withdrew to the second line. My opponent moved 2 hellcats to my extreme left wing to intercept my reinforcement and my routing path to the last 2 VP buildings. But things turned out lucky to me lol. One of the hellcats passing a building was knocked out by a desperate PF try by 2 of my squads, and they survived from K/2 result due to backblast. The second of the hellcats malfed its MA, and was soon destroyed by PF fired by my reinforcement. A successful sniper recalled the last hellcat lol. By turn 5, Americans lost all their AFVs. Later in a HtH melee, my 548 and gun crew, although eliminated, still managed to kill a stack one 236, one 546, one 667 plus a 9-1 for exchange. In the end, I won by holding 3 VP locations.
