Overview:

The Russian attack at Summa had stalled. There was snow everywhere causing the Soviet supply system to falter. For the past two days all attempts to dislodge the Finnish defenders had failed. On December 19th, the Russians were determined to make a large coordinated push. The commander of the 138th Rifle Division demanded more armor which support was provided by elements of the 95th Tank Battalion. The Soviet infantry and armor needed ammunition and fuel however. Nevertheless, the Soviet attack restarted on the morning of the 19th. Wave after wave of infantry and armor attacks assaulted the Finnish troops. The defenders had had several days to prepare and had cleared fields of fire through the wooden terrain.

2024-11-25(D) Jobbo Fett vs JobboFett Finnish winThe Russians executed a particularly aggressive attack that managed to force its way into the equally aggressive Finnish setup. Losses were hard for the Russians, but the tanks helped push the Finns back. Much back and forth was made through IFT DRs, but it was not enough for the Russians to overcome the defenders and secure the necessary number of buildings. The worst thing about this scenario is the Finnish reinforcements that, by design, are forced to wait in the back of the map to garrison buildings and help maintain the objective.

A shout out goes to Koskela, the most temporary hero there ever was. He spawned when his squad crept up to toss a DC on a AFV. And he was then promptly gunned down on the very same MF expenditure that gave him birth.
