Overview:

Slovakia and Poland has disputed border territories following WWI, which led to continued tension between the two countries. The Slovaks allowed German forces to stage in Slovakia for the coming invasion. The Slovak Army mobilized on 26 August, and three of its divisions were incorporated into the German Fourteenth Army. The Slovak units were ordered to attack and protect the east flank of the Fourteenth Army. Standing in front of them were weak elements of the 1st Regiment, Border Defense Corps, having moved from the border with Russia to counter the pending threat.

2024-05-17(A) Caleb Elledge vs Poles Slovak winSlovaks attacked on the West side, breaking some of the Polish defenders with machinegun fire in the first few turns. Many Slovaks broke while trying to cross, but more were able to hug the west edge of the map, eventually appearing behind the Polish positions. On the east side, the Slokaks set up in the woods and waited for the West side attack to develop. By turn 5, the Slovaks completely overwhelmed the West hill, and pushed onto the East hill with the two groups. The Poles had revealed too many of their units and the Slovaks were able to bat aside most of the decoys, which made the East hill look a lot more defended than it really was. It came down to the last turn, but the Slovaks were able to end the game with 13 building and area VC and all Poles either broken or in cc.
2024-03-02(D) Jobbo Fett vs RootinPutin Slovak winThe Polish defense is either going to get hammered on turn one or must set up outside of all line of sight from the Mortar and Machine Guns. My best stacks immediately broke and fled, allowing for the Slovaks to easily take the right hill. I got rather lucky early on with my CC rolls, blunting the attacking force that struck on the left side (as well as swinging around towards the rear) but in the end I simply lost too many units to be able to contest the victory points effectively. Feels far too weighted towards the Slovaks - I would consider upping the VC requirement to 14 VP at least, and perhaps giving the Poles the balance as well.
2023-11-28(A) nathan wegener vs James Treu Slovak winOpponent tried to rotate troops to minimise exposure to fire. Got a couple of good rolls on my first prep fire phase and then rushed . Over in 3 turns.

2023-04-13(A) Craig Renier vs Jim Vasiliou Slovak winThe bulk of the Slovak force circled around the west side in an attempt to eventually take the eastern ridge from the north. A smaller force moved directly against the Polish forces on the ridge. The Slovak mortar had some initial moderate success. However, the crew broke on the Polish Turn 2 seriously hampering the frontal assault. In the mean time, the flanking force was able to close on a Polish MMG in the center stone building, despite taking losses. The Slovaks eventually encircled the MMG and then broke the Polish squad. This loss in the center left no Polish forces to prevent a further advance from the north. On the ridge, Slovak attacks were able to gradually whittle down the Polish defenders, who were having great trouble rallying. On Turn 5, with only 2 1/2 squads remaining and the Slovak mortar crew in good order, the Poles conceded.
