Overview:

The road from St. Vith to Vielsalm ran straight through the railroad junction of Poteau, which had become vitally important to the Germans as their offensive bogged down in both the north and south. To keep the attack moving forward somewhere, Feldmarschall Model backed up the retreating elements of SS-Panzer-Division 1 with fresh troops and tanks of Brigade-fuhrer Sylvester Stadler’s SS_Panzer-Division 9 “Hohenstauffen”. They were to cut the road out of St. Vith and encircle any remaining American forces there.
Attacker: German (SS) (SS-Panzer-Division 9 "Hohenstauffen")
Defender: American (7th Armored Division, 814th Tank Destroyer Battalion)

2024-03-24(D) Richard Jenulis vs Tycho Granville American winAmericans were able to slow the SS down enough to keep them away from the RR.
2024-02-29(A) Stephen dedier vs Mike Johnston German (SS) winMike had me on the ropes making little progress the first 2 turns when i turned my Panthers loose with some recklessness. I rolled low breaking the MG positions and caught his armor.
Still came down to the last turn but with the American armor wiped out (the US Sniper did recall one Stug) the Germans rolled to victory
2023-10-15(A) Ron Garcia vs Darryl M. German (SS) winVery fun scenario. I was the Germans and eked out a win on the last turn. My friend didn't contest my entry so I pressed forward rather easily. Even so, it took forever to get to the VC buildings. It helped that I was able to burn his two entering M36's on turn two. By turn six I had taken the two buildings north of the railroad, and on turn seven I was able to freeze and break the units in the south, securing the win.

Given the difficulty I had reaching the buildings in the allotted time, I think both Shermans (bore sighted and on level 2 hills), the MG's (same), and at least one BAZ on board 2b would be enough to slow the Germans from making it to the VC buildings.
