Overview:

At the start of the invasion of France and the Low Countries-FALL GELB (CASE YELLOW)-most of Infanterie Regiment “Grossdeutschland” was attached to Panzer-Division 10, where it fought at Stonne, and later was employed against the British counterattack at Arras. After Dunkirk, the Germans launched FALL ROT (CASE RED), and “Grossdeutschland” was transferred south, where it helped establish a crossing of the La Noye River at both Quiry-le-See and Paillart on 8 June. The French 2nd and 4th Armies were crumbling as “Grossdeutschland” led the pursuit.

2022-01-14(D) Alberto Pomar vs César Moreno French win
2021-10-28(D) Craig Renier vs Eric Zagdan-Gross French winThe French rushed to the south with 2 AFVs, 4 MMCs, and 3 SMCs totaling 15 VPs and left a delaying force behind. The Germans attempted to maneuver around the French right flank to catch up. The Germans broke the French delaying force, but it had done its job by slowing the German advance. German reinforcements took some risks in order to get in front of the French, but lost an AFV in the process. On Turn 4, the French infantry exited with 1 VP shy of a win. With a German AFV in LOS, a French AFV moved to the south. The German AFV took 3 shots, attained 3 hits, but had no effect on every one. The French AFV exited for a win.

A savvy French player can make this nearly impossible for the Germans to win without the help of favorable dice rolls.
2021-10-21(A) Craig Renier vs Steve Boro French winThe French made a fast dash for the board edge leaving a small delaying force behind. The Germans split their pursuit forces and became bogged down in the stone buildings, unable to catch the French. Add to that a fortunate French MA shot wrecked a German AFV leaving the German forces on their heals. The French exited most of their forces earning a lopsided victory. Played again, I would use the German balance.
2021-10-11(A) Craig Renier vs Eric Z German winThe French made a desperate dash for the board edge leaving behind a few sacrificial units to slow the pursuing Germans. The French made some fundamental errors early on, like forgetting you can't fire an RST MA when CE, which were exploited by the Germans. With some careful maneuver and fortunate die rolls, the French, while still behind, kept the game close. On the final turn, the French had 11 of 13 VPs in position to exit. They failed to rally a DM'd MMC needed for the final 2 VPs. The Germans conceded after the Turn 6 RPh.
2020-05-06(A) O Ramaille vs Macari Samuel German winThe French tried to escape and placed some units with MMG and ATR to cover their retreat. The R35 tanks withdrew and two of them were left to cover the flank German attack. Unfortunately, the French gun is poor and quite inefficient against the German armor. The panzers have a lower armor factor but a better weaponry. The panzers thus took the better out of the French tanks and cut the retreat of the French infantry. A few men were still able to escape but not enough to claim victory with only 8/13 EVP needed.
