Overview:

A few days before the start of Operation Husky, Mussolini had ordered General Guzzoni’s 6th Army to defend Sicily to the last man. The demoralized and poorly equipped Italian soldiers did exactly the opposite. On the morning of 12 July, the Edmonton Regiment advanced along Highway 115 towards the town of Modica. Since landing on Italian soil 48 hours earlier, they had faced almost no opposition. That was about to change.
Attacker: Canadian (Edmonton Regiment, 1st Canadian Infantry Division and 50th Royal Tank Regiment, 23rd Armoured Brigade)
Defender: Italian (123rd Regiment, 206th Coastal Defense Division, 3rd Company, 102nd Anti-Tank Battalion, and 163rd Self-Propelled Battery and 169th Blackshirt Battalion and 2nd Company 101st Tank Battalion, Napoli Division (Mobile Group G))

2023-01-29(A) Vic Lauterbach vs Renato Ventura Canadian winGreat scenario with interesting options for both sides. Renato's Italians gave as good as they got. Finding a good field of fire for the Hornet (Semovente M41M da 90/53) is tricky. Key Sherman MA hits on EE4 and Z6 made the difference. A close, well-played game.
2023-01-23(D) Tuomo Lukkari vs Andy Bagley Italian win
2023-01-21(A) Andy Bagley vs Tuomo Lukkari Italian winVery good scenario, really enjoyed it even though I lost. Excellent defence by my opponent, giving up the first factory quite easily to preserve his forces to defend the second and prevent me getting the additional stone buildings needed for victory. Fooled me with dummies and the placement of Semovente M14M, so that I channelled my attack in the north and south rather than the centre, which basically made my assault too slow, and I conceded at the end of turn 6 when victory was clearly impossible.
Fair share of (mostly bad) luck on both sides: the Italians managed eventually to break down both ART guns, the Semovente M14M and a 47/32, whilst my OBA didn't make it into the game until too late, my three tanks and two mortars only managed a single Smoke round between them, and my attempt to sneak a tank through the woods resulted in bog and immobilisation. I came fairly close, but not close enough.
2020-10-17(D) Jason Wert vs Ed Beekman Italian winvASLOK 2020
2018-04-13(D) Martí Cabré vs Stefano Isella Canadian winA big clash with many tanks burning, guns destroyed and squads killed. The Italian defenses held well until the last turn of the scenario, when the attacker managed to break the last fortified location with an 1,1 and run with some HS to grab four more stone buildings, with the Italians unable to lay enough firepower in the streets to stop the elite morale Canadians.
