The 11th Armoured Division swiftly advanced northeast from Osnabrück. Lieutenant Colonel Max Robinson’s 4th Battalion, King’s Shropshire Light Infantry and their supporting A-34 Comet tanks from the 3rd Royal Tank Regiment attacked the village of Rahden. The shattered remnants of the 15th Panzer Grenadier Division offered a surprisingly spirited, yet futile defense of this small village.

vs
Peter Catchpole
German win
I am not a huge fan of SP scenarios and this is no exception. I think they are brittle and unidimensional. In this playing I had two active SAN, one wounded the British 9 -1 and the other eliminated the British 8 -1. Peter's attack was bolstered by a mortar which seemingly had infinite SMOKE. Even with all the SMOKE, I played a mostly error free game. As a result, I stuffed the VC area furthers from Peter's turn two forces and it was too much for him to get to all the units in that space. Good play by Peter.

vs
Chip Wertenberger (Germans)
British win
The British Schwerpunkt hit the German right flank and reached the main N-S unscathed thanks to Mortar smoke on the StuG covering the approach followed by the unlucky malfunction of its main armament. The Germans extracted their revenge in the following turns by making the British pay when attempting to cross this road, significantly slowing down their attack.. In the end, the British got across the road in sufficient numbers and the Comets and 9-2 made the difference in VBM freeze and CC, giving them the win in their last turn.

vs
Jody Sallans
British win
Jody and I played our rematch: he had Jerry this time,
and I took the plucky Brits.
Jody had a squad on his left that held up my right flank
for about three turns, and survived several CC phases
while taking out 2.5 squads and a 9-1 leader, all while
generating an 8-1.
I thought about resigning at Turn 3 as I was running out
of men and time, but decided to persevere. My persistence
was rewarded.
Late in the game, I lost a Comet to his StuG and rolled my other
Comet to get a rear PB shot...which missed. Luckily, I got a
second chance and destroyed the StuG.
Jody later said he forgot about PF. When he finally used one,
he chose to take the Backblast attack and broke a HS.
I managed to sM his squad/HMG that was holding out, and
was able to rush in to hold him in Melee on the last turn for
the victory. It was a bit undeserved.
I did get lucky with sM. I don't think I missed an attempt.
I do think the Brits need a bit of help. The balance (take away
the German PSK) seems reasonable.
Give it a try, and give the more experienced player the Brits.

vs
Jody Sallans
German win
A rather straight-forward fall back for the German. Jody's
Brits eliminated two half-squads on turn 1. The prospects
were bleak for Jerry.
Fortunately for me, the British attack was bogged down at
the edge of the village, and the Germans were able to coalesce
a defence around the victory building at the back.
Like all SP offerings, the attacker has to move and move a lot.
Any time the Brit Prep Fires should be considered a small victory
for the Germans.
We liked this one a lot...we are going to play it again very soon.
