Overview:
Having smashed through the outer defenses which ringed Nanking Castle, the Japanese invaders offered the garrison a chance to surrender. The Chinese defenders failed to answer the Japanese ultimatum. This prompted an assault on the castle. The Japanese began to blast a breach through the ancient fortress. With an entry point established, the attackers sent in their 'forlorn hope' to storm the breach.Attacker: Japanese (86th Division)

My attack as the Japanese picked up speed and did well in the latter turns but one of the key guard houses (far left) held off just long enough to make me press upon entering the castle! Lots of casualties 43 CVP for Chinese and 33 CVP for the Japanese. Logfile is the last breath of the Japanese assaults on three of the four Victory buildings. | ||
