Overview:

The Norwegian command in Ostfold was still getting organized when the Germans crossed the Glåma River at Fossum after a brief but bloody fight for the river crossing. The next line of defense met was Group Gleditsch, consisting of Norwegian infantry supported by artillery.

2026-01-04(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Norwegian win2 hrsDan's Germans struggled on Turn 1 in the woods and got pinned a couple times and then Close Combats went against them. The German mortar destroyed one of the guns when it hooked up. All three half-tracks bit the dust. The other gun defended itself and got back to back CRIT hits on the assaulting 9-1, which repulsed the final attack. The Norwegians ended the game with 2 squads, a crew, a half-squad and the 8-1 and 7-0 on Board 33 for the win.

2025-01-25(A) Jobbo Fett vs JobboFett German winThe Germans were able to overwhelm the forward Norwegian defenders, and lock out anyone else. I think if I were to replay this one, the Norwegians would be as close to the edge of the board as possible and simply run away - though perhaps that is also a bad idea.

Regardless, early losses meant that the Norwegians were always on the back foot, and the Artillery pieces couldn't find a consistent pace of hitting and breaking the Germans. The German ATR managed to kill two half-tracks, and the 3rd managed to immobilize itself when I attempted an ESB for 1. Certainly a tougher scenario for the Norwegians.
