Overview:

The British launched Operation Epsom on 26 June, with the objective of isolating Caen. For two days the attackers slogged forward against very stiff resistance, but slowly made gains. On 27 June, elements of the 15th Scottish Division clashed with elements of SS Panzer Division 2 around Grainville. Fighting went back and forth, but by late morning on 28 June, the Scots held the village. Kampfgruppe Weidinger composed the southern flank of an attack not directed at Grainville were surprised when they received fire from Grainville, as they thought the village was unoccupied. They turned and took up the battle, also hitting positions of the 7th Seaford Highlanders at la Valtru.

2023-06-22(A) Simon Staniforth vs Ian Morris In progressMy opponent has already done a short write up which is a fair summary. My plan was to take both villages rather than exit and I called it as the Germans T4. Whilst I was in a good position to take the smaller BFP D village, I had probably over committed a squad or two there and my push against the BFP F village never gathered momentum. Lost too many AFVs to change strategy and go for a part Exit to achieve the alternative VC. Ian’s hot dice in the second session sealed my fate!
2023-05-22(D) Ian Morris vs Simon Staniforth British winEnjoyable game. For a change, all the traps worked - except the OBA, which never landed anything more lethal than a SR. Played over two sessions, the dice gods were definitely smiling on me in the second one.
