Overview:
During early April 1945, the Romanian 2nd Armored Regiment was ordered across the Danube River into Austria. It was to support the Soviet 4th Infantry Division in taking the town of Hohenruppersdorf in the heart of Austria's wine country and situated just to the north of Vienna. On the 12th of April, the German 3rd Panzer Division, supported by the 25th SS and 26th SS Panzer Grenadier Divisions, attacked Hohenruppersdorf in an effort to buy the necessary time to evacuate Vienna.Attacker: German (SS) (Elements 3rd Panzer Division & 25th SS Waffen Grenadier Division Ungarische Nr.1.)
