Overview:
As the 23rd Panzer Regiment failed to take Pabiance, the Leibstandarte Adolph Hitler entered into the firestorm and made great gains. Other units, however, couldn’t keep up with the Leibstandarte, with the result being a salient. In order to hold the salient, the Leibstandarte had to position small sections of men. The Waffen SS attack began to run out of steam due to the number of casualties and the desperate situation at hand. The Polish Army had no such shortage of men as units withdrawing from the west were ordered immediately into the battle.Attacker: Polish (2nd Koniov Rifle Regiment and ad hoc Infantry and Cavalry)
Defender: German (SS) (1st and 2nd Companies of Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler)

2024-07-22 | (A) Jobbo Fett | vs | Rob W. | Polish win | A split defense by the Germans meant some units were easy to pick off right from the get-go. German IFT rolls were generally bad, coupled with some great Morale Checks on my part, which greatly helped me avoid the problems of such a low ELR. Since the stronger defenders were in the Marketplace building, I simply chose to ignore it while grabbing any and all available buildings. My aggressive advance meant I could prevent the reinforcing Germans from establishing themselves in any buildings. A patient attack from Rob broke into the left-most building, but enough time had passed that, by the end of the game, there would be no chance of recovering the necessary number of buildings for the victory.

2023-03-09 | (A) Kevin Hannan | vs | usmcwo1 | German (SS) win (VASL Log) | The Polish's will to fight was eradicated around turn 3 and they resigned in turn 5. The Polish attempted to go around the center of the town to reach the east-end buildings. The flank on the north side ELR'ed and with the 6+1 Leader and the 5 broken-side morale was a challenge. On the south side, the Polish got further but not to the church, so the German's occupied that with their reinforcements and started blasting away. In retrospect, with the Polish and their weak ELR/morale, it probably would have been better to keep the force concentrated for better opportunity to rally and more effective fire groups. The Polish didn't have a good strategy to deal with the German morale/leadership advantage.
2022-11-19 | (A) Simon Staniforth | vs | Eoin Corrigan | Polish win | The Poles need to push forward sufficiently to have an effect on the German reinforcements or this powerful force, particularly the T3 group, could overwhelm them. I put both HS in the V4 building to slow them down (which worked somewhat), assaulting the Marketplace with my on board forces. I took this and lost it again but then if you can defend the R / Q hexrows and retain control of all those single hex buildings, you don’t actually need the Marketplace to deny the Germans a win. You must conserve the Poles for the end game - with that -1 broken ML and only “0” mod leaders they don’t Rally easily. Did just enough with the Germans falling short by 2VP. Finally got to place a FL through the Marketplace hex R7. This scenario has been around c25yrs and remains a good close contest
2020-05-23 | (A) Alberto González Ramírez | vs | Jake | Polish win | Good scenario. I had good luck with important shots. |
