Overview:
On the morning of the 19th, two British Guards Battle Groups attacked Visselhovede. After several hours of fierce fighting, the Guardsmen managed to wrestle the village into their control. However, as the exhausted British force consolidated its hold on Visselhovede, the Germans launched an immediate counterattack. The British were set upon by groups of Marines that had infiltrated back into the village, pinning the defenders down while the main body of the Marine force moved into the village out of the woods to the north.Attacker: German (Bataillon I and Stabs Kompanie, Marine Grenadier Regiment 5)
