Overview:
Rommel's army had crushed the defenses in Kasserine Pass. "Gore Force", a British company of infantry, ten tanks, some six-pounder AT guns, and a battery of artillery, had been sent forward as a reserve unit but as they arrived all the traffic was westward as Americans and Frenchmen scrambled to get away from Kasserine. Gore ignored them and dug in on the northern edge of the pass. As the Germans blew through the tattered American units, the focus of the attack shifted to Gore’s men. The first up were Major Beilby’s old, slow Valentines of the 2nd Lothians, sent forward with a few American gun-mounted half-tracks. . .Attacker: German / Italian (Gruppe Stotten, Panzer Division 10 / Centauro Division)
Defender: British / American (Gore Force / 2nd Lothians and 805th Tank Destroyer Battalion / Company I, 13th Armored Regiment)

2024-01-24 | (D) Kevin Duval | vs | Dwayne Duval | British / American win | Rain started right away, then increasing & remaining as Heavy Rain for rest of play. Brits managed a number of "long-shots" even with the Rain, using Bore Sighted locations with Acquisition. Germans gave up in Turn 4 without American Reinforcements yet arriving.

2021-09-28 | (A) Eric Topp | vs | Jason Nichols | German / Italian win | The Allied AFV quickly turned into burning wrecks from long range panzer attacks. The AT fought bravely until German OBA Smoked the Gun. Jason pushed it to get a clear shot but the crew broke from Defensive Fire. This allowed the Germans/Italians to exit enough VP to win.
2021-09-27 | (D) Jason Nichols | vs | Eric Topp | German / Italian win | I misread the setup instructions and placed my tanks too far back. I utilised the hillocks to present hull-down targets but Eric's panzers scored several snakes on TH DR's and soon I had three blazing wrecks. A malf'd gun on my last Valentine took it out of action. Bringing on my two Lee tanks I had to run the gauntlet of a Stuka attack before both of these tanks were also "brewed up" by the Mk IV's. Erics use of smoke to blind my ATG was well done although it still accounted for two Mk IV's before the crew was broken. If I played this again I would set up the Valentines further forward, hull down in the wadi. This would help negate the long-range superiority of the Mk IV's 75L gun.
2021-05-03 | (A) Gerry Proudfoot | vs | John Garlic | German / Italian win | A fun game but the British Valentines need to be handled with finesse so as to buy that 'Time'. If they try and fight it out, even from hull down positions, the Germans will likely kill all three from long range. The M3 and M3 Lee tanks GMCs also have a problem with range due to the Red TH #s. The Germans are pressed for time and need to move, move, move, especially with the need to cross two wadis. The VCs will likely mean the Germans need to exit at least a few vehicles so they cannot get held up in prolonged fight. |
