Overview:
Operation FALL WEISS (Case White) was the first of two massive counterinsurgency operations aimed at a grand encirclement intended to wipe out Tito's partisan army once and for all. Launched in January, the campaign stretched well into March, and with mixed results. By mid-February, the partisans had managed to breach the Italian blockage along the Neretva River, a development that threatened the success of the entire campaign. In response, the German High Command ordered an assortment of German and German-allied units to seal the gap. One of these units in the Croatian Fascist Militia-the notorious "Black Legion'-which made almost immediate contact with the 1st Partisan Brigade near Tarcin.Attacker: Fascist (Fascist Ustaša "Black Legion" Militia with Armor Support)
