Overview:
In late August, Major General Choi Byung Deok, ROK Army Chief of Staff, requested support from the newly formed Korean Marine Corps to protect the city of Jinju from Communist Guerrillas operating in the rugged terrain surrounding Mount Chiri to the north. These guerrillas were former South Korean soldiers of the 14th Regiment that had rebelled over the new ROK government's handling of the Jeju Island uprising a year earlier. Colonel Shin Hyun Joon, the Marine Commandant, dispatched nearly the entire KMC as a task force under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Kim Seung Un. Kun established his command post on 29 August in the dormitory of the Jinju Normal School, and his Marines began patrolling the surrounding countryside the next day. For two months, the guerrillas avoided these patrols before finally breaking their silence in the early hours of 27 October, when approximately 70 guerrillas attacked the Marine camp in Jinju.Attacker: Communist Guerillas (No more details)

2024-02-14 | (D) Peyton Spreacker | vs | Brandon Dega | Communist Guerillas win | It came down to a die roll... Dummy stacks slowed to movement of the Korean Marines leading a desperate dash at the end to capture two buildings. One building was locked in Melee for two full player turns. The other was kindled the turn before by the guerillas. The Korean Marines failed an important fire spread die roll leading to the flame, that was just kindled in the last building needed, roaring into a blaze. The K-Marines in the hex were forced to route during the last turn of the game, leading to a loss. Fun night scenario!
2024-01-23 | (D) Shane Pask | vs | South Korean win | Tougher on the partisans than expected. They conceded turn 4 with only an 8-0 and a 3-3-7 unbroken (+1 HS in melee outnumbered 9-1). Probably under-utilised molotovs (but when they remembered, they were not available) and lit the fires in the wrong places.
