Overview:

Operation Typhoon started with heavy German artillery and air attacks on the Soviet Kalinin Front. The northern arm of the massive German pincer movement that was to capture Moscow soon encountered resistance from the "Dovator" Cavalry Group around the village of Morozkovo. Russian resistance was determined and heavy fighting took place for the village. The Russians could not, however, contain the German offensive and evacuated Morozkovo the next day.

2023-12-22	(A) Kermit Mullins	vs	Dan Best		German win		Fun little scenario. Of course dice can have a bigger impact on smaller scenarios and Dan and I would roll a handful of snakes and boxcars that of course impacted the game. Dan's Russians held tough until Turn 3, when they began to break and gave the Germans the opening to ultimately eliminate all the Russian squads and secure 10 building hexes. Overall, a fun game and a great idea. More card scenarios please!

2020-11-17	(D) Martí Cabré	vs	Solo		Russian win		Playested scenario Mother Russia from New England Volunteers Special 1. I tried to enter the Germans on Turn 1 instead of Turn 2 and it worked well routing the Russians away until the woods edge, where the Russians rolled 1,1 twice(!!!) from the other side of the road and two German stacks with leaders broke, making the final assault impossible.
