Overview:

As the Germans were being squeezed in the shrinking Falaise Pocket, 90 kilometres east, Lieutenant-General George S. Patton’s Third Army had captured Dreux and established bridgeheads over the Aunay River. Patton immediately ordered his reconnaissance units to race for the Seine River. The US Third Army was moving so rapidly that it threatened to capture crossing sites over the Seine, cutting off the I SS-Panzerkorps. The American pressure did not lessen and the 18.Luftwaffenfelddivision was ordered to attack the American bridgehead at Mantes-Gassicourt, but this attack was upset by the hasty attack by reconnaissance elements of the US 79th Infantry Division, which split the 18.Luftwaffenfelddivision from its flanking unit – the 49.Infanteriedivision. To alleviate the pressure on the right flank the Jägerregiment 48 launched an attack with support of assault guns that morning. Meeting initially with partial success, the troops suffered 50 percent casualties, which halted the drive. The division received an order to withdraw towards Rouen.
Attacker: German (Elements of the 48th Jäger Regiment, 18th Luftwaffenfelddivision)
Defender: American (Elements of the 314th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division)

2021-10-13(D) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins German win
2021-10-13(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best German winThe German attack was very successful in the beginning, but both STUG's went down to bazooka shots. The initial American force was reduced to the 8-0 and one half-squad. The American reinforcements came on, but the 9-1 had two squads break and ELR. The Stuarts did fine, but one was destroyed by the German 9-1 firing a captured bazooka. On the final turn, a single 6-6-6 tried to get within 4 hexes of the bridge for the win, but was broken and giving the Germans the victory. Observations --- way too many support weapons and dismantled weapons are a pain...let the player decide whether or not to enter with dismantled weapons as the rules give the player option. Fun scenario.
2021-03-19(A) Will Willow vs B. Stevenson American win
2021-02-03(A) Indy Lagu vs Rob Oler American winAs Kevin said, the river makes for an interesting situation.

Rob thinks he diced me. I think I underplayed a bit. The Germans have a manpower
advantage for three turns, then the Cavalry arrives.

I thought I was done for on turn three, but managed to make the game close. We
came down to the last turn and Rob had too many units.

I would certainly play it again.
