Overview:

After the Russian breakthrough of the first Finnish line of defense in the Karelian Isthmus, Field Marshal Mannerheim ordered the evacuation of Far Karelia. All forces in the region were sent to the Isthmus tp prevent a Russian exploitation of the breakthrough. On the height Vierumäki, the Swedish unit Avdelta Kompaniet was deployed with orders to delay any Russian movements, while a new and last line of defense was constructed behind it. At dusk 20 June, the Swedes, commanded by Lieutenants Axel Hård av Segerstad and Orvar Nilsson, occupied the slopes. To their dismay, they soon realized that the rocky ground made every attempt at digging impossible. The next morning, the Russians attacked.
Attacker: Russian (13th Rifle Division)

2025-03-11(A) Jim Liang vs David Wiesenhahn Russian winRussians attacked up the center and Swedish right. The Swedes accidentally opened the door when they repositioned their forces and left the Q2 bridge undefended. The Russians poured through the gap while the center kept the remaining Swedes from shifting over.
2022-03-02(D) Ron Garcia vs Darryl M. Swedish win
2021-06-09(D) Indy Lagu vs Rob Oler Swedish winAs the Swedes, I spread out a _lot_ to avoid too much damage
from the Katyushas. I think Rob was a bit unlucky with the rockets:
I lost a half squad to a KIA and four dummies. The Katyushas also
generated a lot of shellholes that Rob could use later.

I think this is a bit tough for the Russians. They are attacking uphill
over a fair bit of open ground against 8 morale Swedes. The Swedes
reverse slope defence looked like a bad idea after they lost their 80mm
OBA with a 12 on a radio contact followed by a 6
repair roll.

If you are playing someone a bit less experienced, give them the Swedes.
As John Smith says, the Russians have to move quickly to win as they have
only five turns.

Our playing came down to the Swedish half of turn 5. Rob had 2 Russian
squads on Level 4, and I managed to break one in Prep Fire for the win.
2021-05-25(D) Savo Barbero vs Opponent Aanonymous Swedish win[Imported from ROAR]
2021-04-25(D) Neal Ulen vs Russian Swedish winSeems like a rough prospect for the Russians. The Russian rocket OBA only managed to start a couple flames, and that's about it. We made it only halfway and the Russians threw in the towel several to outright KIAs, including their 8-1 leader (move through the open or move through Swedish OBA air burst in the woods). They also had broken squads strewn across the board. The Russians have to MOVE FAST to win this one, and somehow minimize attrition while doing so. Getting up that hill is tough because Russians have to traverse gullies (which basically eats up 1 turn) to get there, then deal with double crest lines and/or entering woods crest lines. Very slow going. Then the Russians have to hold the top of the hill from a final Swede counterattack if it gets that far along. Seems extremely tough against any decent Swedish setup.
