Overview:

The Japanese had invaded Tonkin and using available dense terrain undertook a vast maneuver of encirclement on either side of the fortified city of Lansgson, threatening to isolate it by cutting Colonial Road 1. The 11th Company, 3rd Battalion of the 9th Infanterie Coloniale Regiment took position in front of the village of Mai Pha and the Japanese soon attacked to complete the isolation of Langson. . .

2022-08-13(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Japanese winTurns 1 - 3 were a good fire and maneuver part of the game as the French tried to hold the rail line. The Japanese took some heavy losses, but then rallied with their tanks and pushed into the village. The French reinforcements were stopped cold by the Japanese tanks that were waiting for them. By turn 6 it had been a bloody fight, but the Japanese easily won taking control of the village and then leisurely exiting having decimated the French.
2022-02-12(A) Eric Topp vs Kalle Widell Japanese winUsing a combination of VBM freeze and Banzai, my Japanese were able to reach the outskirts of the village by turn 4. Kalle tried to get his reinforcements into a blocking position but the painfully slow French tanks didn't help.

Using the heavy rain (E3.51) my Japanese moved up. I won the H-t-H CC and three French squads were eliminated. With only four Good Order French squads facing 13 Japanese, Kalle conceded.
