Overview:

The pincers around Falaise were closing on Paul Hausser’s 7. Armee and by the third week of August there were very few routes of escape left. One such possible route was at the village of St. Lambert along the Dives river, which was little more than a stream. Nonetheless, the few bridges capable of carrying vehicular traffic became very strategic, and one of the last was located at St. Lambert. A small but speedy mixed force from the Canadian 4th Armoured Division under command of Major David Vivian Currie was dispatched on 18 August to seize the bridge – if they could.

2024-05-10(A) Jack Wilson vs Gary Fortenberry German winAnother FnF loss. I opted for a mass attack from the south. Got my infantry force in position to assault the VC buildings by turn 3 (hopefully under the cover of vehicle smoke). Unfortunately, I was a little too sloppy with my armor and gave up some unnecessary shots. I lost two to his 88, one to a PF, and one to his MTR. CVP reached- game over on T4. In hindsight, the better attack plan would have been to attack from at least two directions. Another lesson learned too late.
Gary is a great player and a real gentleman. I enjoyed the beatdown!
2024-03-12(A) Rob Schmitt vs Mitch Davis Canadian winI was Canadian attacker vs German defender. Canadian attacks from the south and east to take 6 buildings around a town square. German has an 88mm gun and handful infantry defending against 5 Canadian tanks and infantry. I was able to keep my tanks out of the way of the AT gun for most of the game. Lost 1 Stuart to the gun. Another Sherman was lucky as it survived a couple shots by being hull down. I was able to get enough IFT checks on the crew manning the gun that it was finally reduced when he rolled a 12 one of his morale checks. I kept my tanks at a good enough distance from his infantry that he was not able to effective with Panzerfausts. He had a good successful counter attack turn 3, but I was able to recover and close in and take 5 buildings on turn 5.
2023-07-14(D) Andy Beaton vs James Rimmer Canadian winDicey scenario, Canadians won but came within a pip on a captured PIAT shot of losing a Sherman and armour leader which would have put them over the CVP cap. Fun scenario though.
