Overview:
The North Korean People's Army 9th Division had withdrawn north from the Naktong River area and was now occupying defensive positions astride the Taegu-Tejon road in an effort to slow the American advance. Passing through the stalled 21st Infantry during the night, Lt. Col. Throckmorton's 5th Regimental Combat Team (RCT) resumed the assault on Kumch'on on the morning of 24 September, with Lt. Col.
