Overview:

The Japanese 2nd Armored Division was ordered to help defend the Philippines, a daunting task due to its large area, multiple islands, and lack of adequate intelligence on American intent. General MacArthur chose to land on Luzon very near the spot the Japanese had invaded in 1941. The 7th Tank Regiment was ordered to move to support the Japanese troops already in the area and to contest the American advance toward the island's interior. The combat manual of the 2nd Armored stated that the Philippine battle "...will end either in the complete annihilation of the American devil or the complete destruction of our forces".

2020-09-18(D) M T vs N.N. American winThe Japanese attack was stunted by accurate anti-armor fire. After a big Banzai Charge resulted in many casualties the Japanese player threw in the towel in turn 3.
2020-07-15(D) Kevin Sanders vs Rob Brown Japanese winAs expected - Japanese win but a a large cost...lost all tanks and several sqauds trying to get the VPs they needed. Banzai charge see a CCV attempt vs Sherman w/ Demo charge and ended in a failed attack roll (whew) later succumbed to melee. US placed a few squads to close to Jap forces at start. This can be won by the US but you need a really good game and some luck. Fun though

2020-05-08(A) Kermit Mullins vs Scott Waites Japanese winMy Japanese managed to roll across the hill and then into the jungle taking down multiple US squads and a Greyhound and the Sherman. Solid win for the Japanese.
2020-04-10(A) Martí Cabré vs Solo American winThe Americans deployed in a line with scattered infantry in the woods and the AFV and gun in the northern hill. The Japanese tanks attacked on the north side and were almost all of them obliterated by AT fire with rate. Only four tanks managed to get to the other side to eventually destroy a Sherman. On the south the Japanese infantry advanced through the woods and used banzai charges to cross the kunai but it was mown down by murderous American fire. Only a couple of squads managed to get to the village. There were a lot of HtH combats but most of them fell on the American side, so with only 15 of 25 VP and two turns to go the Japanese conceded. I think the Japanese should advance with more care because American fire is too powerful.
