Overview:

In July 1941, an insurrection broke out in Montenegro. The Regio Esercito supported the Albanian nationalists against their common and communist enemy. The Albanian gendarmerie then decided to "disarm" the Serbian populations. Near the town of Borcane, a detachment of ninety-three gendarmes under the command of Capt. Boljetini, a former officer of the Yugoslav Royal Army, faced a strong resistance. The Albanians called for Italian help. Only the arrival of two old armored cars made the poorly equipped partisans pull back. Furious, Boljetini burned the town to the ground and killed dozens of Serbian civilians.

2024-03-28(A) Mark McG vs Dave Wilson Axis (Italian/Albanian) winI enjoy low firepower, few tank scenarios. This turned out to be a difficult puzzle for the Partisans, since they have to try and defend across the board, but with limited firepower and range. The Axis can concentrate, find/make a hole and exploit it.

Our play had a lot of low rolls, and some remarkable events. THe Partisans generated an 8-0 leader, and the Albanians battle hardened the 9-1 to a 9-2. Generally the mortars and artillery were ineffective, but had threat potential. The main killer was close combat. In the end the Axis won handily, scopring 30+ VP to about 5 VP, primarily from the hill locations. The battle plan had the Albanians crossing the gully into the village, and the Italians enveloping both flanks. The slightly longer Italian range gave them advantages here.

The double VP for Massacre are hard to achieve, since Partisans don't surrender normally. In the last legs the Albanians did capture a Partisan squad in CC and took them for a one way walk into the woods, but I have to wonder if that Victory Condition was well thought out.
2020-11-29(D) Tom Kearney vs Walt McWilliams Partisan winThis scenario ebbed and flowed with both sides experiencing highs and lows. It all came down to the final CCPh where the partisans had to fend off several attacks. Two successful ambush withdrawals ended the game in the partisans favor. Great game!
2019-06-03(D) Michael Rodgers vs Magnus Rimvall Partisan winMagnus Rimvall and I finished FT236 ETHNIC CLEANSING. I had the defending NOVJ Partisans. The Partisans are not as hobbled as usual; they can deploy and form multi-location fire groups. The partisans are against Albanians reinforced by Italians. It is always tough to attack with six-morale Italians, but there are a lot of them and the Albanians have a morale of seven. The Axis side has multiple ways to accumulate VP and they have seven turns to do it. My partisans held pretty well, I thought, but after four turns it was obvious the Axis side would win, even though at the time the partisans had more VP through Axis casualties. The balance for the partisans is more weapons, but they need more bodies.
