Overview:
Outpost Prom, previously hidden from German view, had revealed itself through its successful first efforts. It soon drew attention from German Lieutenant Hartwig, and his machine-guns situated across the canal. The response drew a Polish reply in the form of 75mm gun fire, and effective enough marksmanship to force the Hartwig's soldiers to halt their fire, and fall back in places. German marines, newly reinforced by SS-Heimwehr Danzig, began the next phase of the assault at 0855 hours.
