Overview:
The German High Command was willing to risk it all in their gamble to force the Russian forces back across the Vistula. They committed their last reserves, including the elite 25th Panzer "Hermann Goering" Division. Lead units for the attack were to sweep across a vast area of rye fields and drive toward the Vistula. Entrenched in a rye filed directly in front of the panzers as a company of the 220th Rifle Regiment. Lt.
