Overview:

On April 6th, the Wehrmacht erupted across the Yugoslavian borders. The Yugoslavs repeatedly performed individual acts of heroism -- attacking the panzers with grenades and Molotov cocktails -- but collectively the Yugoslavian army was outclassed and scattered. However, along the Nisava River, the wooden bridges were invariably in flames that first day when German troops reached them. Desperate for bridges to link his divided command, von Kleist formed an advance armored detachment and sent ths ad hoc group ahead to seize bridges along the river. Early the next morning, after driving through the darkness, an element under the command of Major Teege reached Pirot to find the bridge there still standing. With infantry dismounted from their vehicles, he swept forward to capture it.

2023-11-08(D) Craig Renier vs Jeff Talor Yugoslav winThe Germans carefully maneuvered around the Yugoslav left flank, but still gave the hidden Yugoslavs a few high odds opportunities. However, the defenders generally rolled high while the attackers rolled low. The German plan was to work behind the woods along the river not realizing the terrain was marsh rather than brush. This slowed the advance. As time passed by, the Yugoslavs were able to generate some successful shots, eliminating one AFV with a gun and one AFV with a Molotov. It came down to the last turn, but the Germans could not get past the 2nd Yugoslav gun and infantry.
2023-02-07(D) Kevin Duval vs Dwayne Duval Yugoslav winGermans got one AFV across the bridge only to lose it later to a lucky shot from an AT Gun that moved up to turn it into a burning Wreck. MOLs did great job on other vehicles.
