Overview:

The invasion of Celebes began on January 11, 1942. The Seasebo 1st SNLF landed on the coast of the northern peninsula on both sides of Manado town, occupied it, and advanced toward Kakas to secured the seaplane base there on the next day. The Sasebo 2nd SNLF landed at Kema on the southeast side of the peninsula and advanced to Kakas and Lake Tondano; a cross-peninsula road connected Kema and Manado, and a company of Type 95 light tanks accompanied the amphibious force. The area was defended by Troop Command Manado – 1,500 Dutch troops, under Major B.F.A. Schillmoller, in ten companies of reservists, home guardsmen and native militia. A 45-man Mobile Column with three armored cars (trucks jury-rigged with armor plates and machine guns) was tasked as a reaction force in the event paratroopers were dropped.

2024-09-16(A) Richard Jenulis vs Tycho Granville Japanese winThe Japanese Attacked on both flanks rolling up the Dutch into a few remaining buildings in the center. Lots of casualties on both sides. In the end, the low ELR and lack of no quarter did the Dutch in.
2024-09-03(A) Will Willow vs Neal Ekengren Dutch win
2023-06-16(A) M van Houte vs S.H. Japanese winNice puzzle for both sides; the VC buildings extend across the whole width of the map, so where to defend/attack with what requires some thought. The Japanese player has a very powerful force, and should use their AFVs aggressively (which I did): their FP isn't great, but if they can draw fire and provide cover (alive or dead), they do well. The Dutch have quite a bit of FP in their SW and AFV (and Gun), but their force is pretty brittle. Once they break, they break hard.
2023-01-16(D) walter mcwilliams vs Tom Kearney Japanese winA fun play for a Sunday afternoon. I set my Dutch up to withdraw back to the Victory buildings, they were successful but they were unable to inflict enough damage on the Japanese to hold out for the win. I also misread the rule disallowing Dutch deployment pregame so my HIP reveal for the win was forfeit. Highlights were killing a Japanese tank in CCRF with a Dutch Green Squad and getting an improbable kill with the 37L,
