Overview:

During the First Shanghai Incident, all-out hostilities erupted on 28 January, and the Japanese Marines struggled to make progress against the defensive positions. A truce was set in place in an effort to negotiate an end to the conflict but no peace agreement could be reached. The Kunume Naval Infantry Brigade, reinforced by the 2nd Independent Tank Company, resumed the attack against the Chinese forces defending the Chapei District.

2022-07-11(A) Dave Mareske vs Chuck Hammond Chinese winA tough fight throughout the game, lots of bodies piled up. I made a mistake with my Japanese AC realizing too late that I could not drive over a trench. Chuck, deftly used the trenches as barriers for the tanks to cross, requiring a bog check for each one. Thus, a tank and the AC arrived to the fight late. Still, the Japanese had the opponent cornered in the final building and was poised for victory until a Chinese squad battle hardened and created a hero, finally too much to overcome as the Japanese needed to eliminate them and a 9-1 leader. A good close game that came down to the wire.

2022-02-12(D) Jobbo Fett vs Gary Bartlett DrawWe settled on calling this one a draw after the Japanese had accidentally taking advantage of extra movement as we misunderstood armored assault. The Chinese set up far too spread out and lost squads either by isolation or through poor dice exchanges. The Japanese were able to take advantage of some terrible dice to get adjacent to HMGs on 12FP -2 shots. Oh, and I forgot my bore sights.
