2022-02-12 | (A) Dan Best | vs | Kermit Mullins | German / Ukrainian win | First to play and post. | ||
2022-02-12 | (D) Kermit Mullins | vs | Dan Best | German / Ukrainian win | This is a fun DASL scenario. The SSR's are very critical to the game and are very harsh for the German/Ukrainian Player. So be aware of that and be prepared to take some seriously hard hits on Turn 1. The Ukrainians in particular stand little chance of surviving Turn 1 unless they are in upper levels. In our game, I kept all my Germans in the barracks and resolved to fight off the Partisan's at each threatened location independent of any other support. This was a dangerous strategy. Dan's Partisans swept into the Ukrainian position and wasted the lower level squads in CC. He then cleared the upper levels quickly. On Turn 3, his appropriation units grabbed the first Ammo Counter and exited. All Dan needed was wone more and he would win the game. At the factory, Dan successfully breached the walls in three locations. His assault into the wooden buildings to the south was slowed by Melee with a 4-3-6. His units entered into the factory through the northern breaches, but were broken and pushed back in fierce fighting inside the factory building. On Turn 6, the Germans were still in control of the Ammo Counter and Dan's boys didn't have any movement left to gain in close combat and exit if off the board. So it would be a German/Ukrainian victory by the slimmest of margins. |
