Overview:

In early August 1942, the Russian 20th and 31st Armies attacked the German defense lines south-eat of Rzhev and subsequently cut the important Zubtsov-Karmanovo road. On 6 August, 6th and 8th Tank Corps and 2nd Guards Cavalry Corps were introduced into the breach. German operational reserves were brought up to meet the threat. The 2. Panzer-Division moved northward from Karmonovo, meeting the exploiting Russian forces head on. On 10 August, 8th Tank Corps crashed into the 2. Panzer-Division's lines. At Yelnya, a new and hard-hitting German anti-tank gun, the 7.5 cm Panzerabwehr-Kanone 41, was used for the first time. The German defenses held, but the onslaught would continue the next day.

2025-06-04(D) jon smith vs russian German winRussians moved on and lost a T34 to a wunderwaffe hit at long range.,.... things looked good for germans...

Germans T1, wunderwaffe Malf.... oh dear..... some shuffle as germans had defended across wide front and russians were going at them!

Russians moved cautiously up encircling some infantry in woods...after braving their fire.

German 2, second wunderwaffe appears takes a shot at a lone KV.. and Malf! other one breaks after failed repair attempt... no at guns left!..Russians push hard with tanks getting around village and amongst german lines..

3. German marder comes on and takes up position on hills covering village... but russian mortar shoots from concealment at extreme range and critical hit taking marder out. It looks over.. but then russians loose 2 squads in a bad CC against 1 german squad... they need those buildings!

4, 5 russian armour moves in with impunity HE and MG fire takes several germans down leaving town open to infantry push... german scout car hares down centre to take position on hill, failed to deploy smoke and a KV lumbers after it... ofc it hits... and ofc .. its a dud! Aq gained.... but next shot malf KV gun!.. it fails to repair and is recalled after Mgs stun the scout car.

Scout car covers hills and russians are forced to run at buildings to take 10... several squads get KIA... and germans hold on...just

Very important to read carefully the SSRs and the victory conditions.

2017-06-29(A) Jeff B vs Scott Sherer German win6.08 hrsTechnically this was a Russian victory as they had captured and held one of the 75LLs, but the Germans had a chance to MALF the gun before it fell into enemy hands so we played it out. What a great scenario, and what a fun game! We rolled no less than 3 gusts, which spread burning tank metal throughout the air. By the end of the game one multi-level building was engulfed and two tracts of woods burnt to a crisp. The game came down to a melee in one building which would decide the outcome. The Germans managed to sneak a squad into the tank bookended-building and his extra CC value tipped the scales to allow his half squad buddy to survive prolonging the melee and preserving the German victory.
