Overview:
With the Battle of the Bulge drawing to its close SS-Reichsfûhrer Himmler launched his “Nordwind” offensive in the Alsace in northeastern France. Instead of being pulled back for R&R the 101st Airborne was put into the line once more. Little was known on the German forces on the northern side of the Moder river. Men of Easy were sent over the river at night with the objective of taking prisoners.
