2024-01-27(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best German (SS) / German winGermans successfully repelled an attack from the south side, which took out flamethrowers and DC's. In the North, machine gun fire from the Reichstag slowed the Russian assault. At the conclusion of Turn 3, the Russians gave the concession. Down to a single tank and no unbroken infantry on the south side were the main causes. The Russian artillery was unable to see anything as the NVR step reduced by 1 each turn. With the Germans in +5 Fortified locations and Fanatic, there were no longer enough Russians to storm the Reichstag and overcome the Germans who controlled all of the staircases. Some other issues...my counters for the German Borg PF Tanks were not the ASL version, but appear to be the ATS versions. Dan had the correct counters and was able to tell me the correct values. The maps also had to be put together and of course the seam ran right through the Reichstag, which ...really... Anyway, I enjoyed the scenario overall, but don't understand the decision to step reduce the NVR for a morning assault, Increasing the NVR each turn would have made more sense. Additionally, the little PF tankettes are mildly worthless. But, again good fun overall.
