Overview:
"Armored Wedge" - - - The Germans launched their major summer offensive, called Operation Blau to seize the oil wells of the Caucasus. As part of this plan, the new Motorized Infantry Division Grossdeutschland was to advance and capture the city of Voronez on the Don River as its first objective. The GD pierced the Soviet front and rushed across the steppe under a blazing sun. Faced with this threat, the Red Army hastily brought in reinforcements and on the dawn of 30th June, the planes of Luftflotte 1 spot the arriving troops. The Panzer battalion GD was at the head of the Division, under command of Hauptmann Possel. It destroyed some T-34s during reconnaissance and adopted a training formation “Panzerkeil” [armored wedge] for its advance to the village of Golugovka, fulcrum of the Soviet resistance. - - - Victory conditions: The German player must control more buildings < 6 hexes from 16Q1 than the Russian, whilst inflicting more CVP than has been suffered.Attacker: German (Grossdeutschland Motorized Infantry Division)
