Overview:
Breaking the siege of Leningrad, the Soviet 2nd Shock Army advanced to a point just short of the village of Skvoritsy with its important crossroads and bridge. Kampfgruppe Meyer, consisting of four Tiger tanks and soldiers of the 126th Infantry Division pushed out of Skvoritsy to previous defensive line beyond the village and after a heavy firefight, destroyed several Russian tanks. A group of German soldiers brought news that a large force of Russian tanks and infantry had broken into Skvoritsy and closed in behind Meyer. Meyer decided that he had to turn back and force his way through Skvoritsy to re-establish contact with the 126th Division. Meyer’s bold move caught the Russians by surprise.Attacker: German (Elements 442nd Grenadier Regt, 126th Infantry Division; Schwere Panzer Abteilung 502)

The other three Tigers proceeded to knock out 4 of my T-43's with little effort. Another Tiger would be immobilized by a side shot...but then two Tigers knocked out my last T-43. After four turns of pretty bad dice rolls on my side and 4 snakes and multiple threes by the Germans...I conceded. My chances of winning next to zero...especially as I got diced. | |

| 2025-09-03 | (D) Mark Thompson | vs | Robert LeClerc | Russian win | The Russians rapidly retreated into the “funnel” approach to the bridge to take multiple street fighting perches and park T43s in road adjacent ambush positions, complemented by the 57LL in the factory. The Germans pushed ahead, smoking one T43 and made good progress toward the Stream with their Infantry, but encountered incredible bad luck with their Tigers and PSK. 3 Tigers malf’d their MA, the PSK rolled 11 with a 2 hex range rear shot, and the MA-intact Tiger rolled a 12 TK….. Crazy. One MA-disabled Tiger Recalled on a 6 repair attempt and the other two fell while attempting to run the gauntlet. The MA-intact Tiger did not have enough MP to exit, sealing the Russian win. A tough one for the Germans IMHO if the Russians are able to stuff the exit play with significant surviving forces. |
