Overview:

Hoping to cut the communication lines of the American 42nd and 79th Infantry Divisions with Strassbourg, the Germans launched an all out combined arms assault on American defenders in the strategic town of Hatten. The German effort was a sharp attack by infantry and armor assisted by flamethrower tanks and a heavy concentration of artillery. Across snow covered ground, panzergrenadiers advanced in the face of American small arms and machinegun fire. Artillery from both sides devastated the village, leaving many buildings in flames or rubble.

2015-11-01(D) Michael Rodgers vs Bruno L'Archeveque American winThe Germans made some decent progress in the early going. The smaller Ami HMG in a wood building was taken out on turn 1. The 50 cal with 9-2 stayed the whole game, but often in smoke or even WP from a captured Ami mortar. The Germans never got their OBA. The American had trouble with their OBA as well, breaking the radio and then repairing it. When it finally hit, it made the difference. After four turns the Germans had taken 7 building hexes and the Amis still held around 35. The Germans had only one mobile tank left, a flame tank. The Americans, though short on infantry, had lost only one tank. The Germans conceded at this point because it did not look winnable any longer.
2011-04-23(A) Ian Willey vs MacRob American winReally did not get into this one. Luck went Robs way with two CH's against Panthers just a few of the Crits coming my way. I was unable to get far from my start line.
