Overview:
After establishing the crossing over the Aller River at Westen, the troops of the 71st Infantry Brigade, 53rd (Welsh) Division began to expand the bridgehead towards the south, in the direction of the bridgehead at Rethem. On the evening of 12-13 April, the 1st Battalion the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry pressed south towards Gross Häuslingen, tasked with holding ground over which the 4th Battalion the Royal Welch Fusiliers would launch an attack to take Altenwahlingen at dawn.Attacker: British (C Company, 1st Battalion, Oxford and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry)
