Overview:

Germany’s army was beaten. The Rhine River had been crossed at Remagen and elsewhere. As more and more of the Allied forces closed in on the Rhine, there was a growing tendency to simply take it “on the run” rather than shift to an existing bridgehead. In the St. Goar sector, the U.S. 87th Infantry division made good use of a heavy morning mist to get two battalions across the river undetected. The Germans, though totally disorganized, did form a semblance of defense based on the local headquarters unit. . .

2022-02-27(D) Michael Tisdel vs Joe Schirmer German winThis is an interesting scenario with enough special rules to make it appear to be an even fight. The Germans have to defend everywhere with an eye to consolidating their forces when the US arrives. This is hampered by the limited number of squads they can move. The Americans have the advantages of attacking (being able to concentrate their forces) as well as higher FP, more equipment, better leaders, and not suffering ammunition shortage. However, they have to clear a board for victory.

I think it is a balanced scenario. The required real estate (both physical and in VASL) is the only real detriment.

In this game, it came down to the dice - my opponent had bad luck most of the game and I had very good luck most of the game. Sadly this can make for a frustrating game for both players.
2021-12-21(A) O Ramaille vs American winThe Americans focused their attention on board 4 only relying on the uncertainty of where the other reinforcements should land and also on the bad communication between German units (a few infantry able to move at a time). The Germans decided to remain hidden as long as they could. However, the defenders were quickly captured by the US troopers. Moreover, the Americans positioned themselves to prevent German troops to reinforce the area with success. Finally, a German Sturmgeschütz panzer was able to threaten the area but a wave of US infantry was surrounding it and a daring leader with a FT was able to put it ablaze. A quite easy US victory.
2005-06-25(A) Keith Colins vs Henry American winFun Scenario, SSR's emulate river crossing, I think this one is more balanced than ROAR shows.
2002-07-30(A) John Garlic vs William Miles American win[Imported from ROAR]
2002-03-16(A) keith Spurlock vs Kevin Taylor German win[Imported from ROAR]
