Overview:

A micro-campaign of 3 linked scenarios. Phase 1 - 4.5 turns, Phase 2 - 4.5 turns, Phase 3 - 4.5 turns. The battle to retake Guam had moved into its final phase, as the Marines pushed the stubborn Japanese defenders into the northern portion of Guam. Although the Japanese were no longer in close contact with the Americans, the patrols sent out on the 30th ran into scattered enemy fire as soon as they began to move up from the belt of lowland between Agana and Pago Bays, and onto the northern plateau. All reconnaissance and other intelligence indicated that the Japanese were ready to defend the road that forked north of Agana, one branch leading to Finegayan and the other to Barrigada. The 3rd Marine Division renewed its advance on August 3rd, with the 3rd and 9th Marines. While the 3rd Marines had easy-going, the 9th Marines were brought to a halt just two hours later as they approached Road Junction 177.
