Overview:

The KPA's 7th Division was formed from local border constabulary units and conscripts from the Haeju region of North Korea, some 100 miles to the northwest of Seoul. Though not a front line formation, it was tasked to move down the Tongyeong Peninsula as part of the KPA's efforts to isolate the port cities of Masan and Chinhae, vital to South Korea for receiving supplies and reinforcements. To counter this move, a ROK Marine Battalion of some 600 men, the Kim Seung Un unit, named after its commande, was inserted by sea onto the peninsula along its eastern shores. Elements of the battalion took up blocking positions on Wonmun Hill which lay astride the narrow central portion of the isthmus, trapping the 7th in pace, while other elements began offensive operations against the 7th Division's positions throughout the peninsula.

2023-04-22(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best South Korean winWhere do I begin? As the North Koreans, I tried to move to assault the hill and with a 2 ELR left 10 units Disrupted. You only get 2 Human Waves, so I was attempting to get close enough to launch the first one...but the South Koreans just mowed me down in a machine gun clinic. This is one of the scenarios that you play and realize you have no chance. Which makes you ponder how it got to the point of being playable. Slaughter scenarios need a lot of cannon fodder and there were simply too few North Koreans to make this a game. I honestly would not recommend this scenario. It's great to let a newbie learn the game and enjoy shooting up the North Koreans...but for most of us, this isn't going to be a fun, competitive scenario.
